Sr. Accountant

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support the general accounting operations with a dynamic team.  The role requires a team player who is eager to learn new skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes.  The Senior Accountant will perform key functions within the accounting team and will have broad general exposure to accounting segments and functions. Working under the direction of the Controller, you will prepare and record journal entries, prepare month-end reconciliations and analysis and assist in data validation for special projects and significant accounting models. The individual will be responsible for multiple aspects of general ledger accounting and work with a talented, driven team in a fast-paced agency setting. The right person will have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and can bring order to a fragmented process. Strong reconciliation experience and the ability to work through discrepancies is a key to success in the role.

How Can You Make A Difference?

  • Prepare recurring analyses and internal management review reports with variance explanations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Perform fixed asset, general ledger, credit card, and bank reconciliations
  • Collaborate on process improvements, automation enhancements, and other technology projects as necessary
  • Participate and support interim, quarterly, and annual audits to ensure timely and successful completion
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and follow accounting policy and technical standards
  • Ensure applicable processes and controls are designed and operating effectively to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Perform ad hoc accounting projects and assist other Finance team members, as needed.

Skills For Success

  • Organized and detail oriented
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years previous accounting experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, if functions, pivot tables, etc. G Suite, and competent in Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and ability to analyze and resolve moderately complex technical accounting issues
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
